Camp Linus is looking for a Scout of the Week! To be eligible, the scout must demonstrate these character traits:

• good attitude
• best effort
• respectful to classmates and teachers (kind words, no blurting out, no slamming desk, attentive listening: eyes on the person talking, hands still, mouths closed, ears listening)
• responsible (brings in homework on time, keeps desk organized, checks off Reading Ticket, doesn’t run in school)
• productive (follows directions, attempts and completes assignments in class with best effort)
• leadership (sets a good example for others, helps others when appropriate)

Brianna is the Citizen of the Month for Camp Linus. Brianna has strong qualities of leadership and integrity. She gives her best effort, is kind and respectful to her classmates, and enjoys helping others.

Nikki is the Citizen of the Month selected by the Physical Education teachers.

With one cup of flour, ½ cup of salt, and ½ cup of water, each scout created enough salt-dough to shape four different landforms: a mountain range, a plateau, a valley, and plains.

Next week the salt-dough landform maps will be painted, and possibly gain a few rivers and lakes!

In addition to learning about landforms, we learned the names and location of all 7 continents, the equator, and the North and South Poles.

Tiano and Tom are our Reader Buddies of the Week. Tiano and Tom had so much fun reading together this week that they didn’t even notice anyone else in the room!

For their first book, each of them read parts of it. After that, Tom picked out a book and read it to his third grade Reader Buddy Tiano.
